RÈGLEMENT

1. Le 2ème Concours International de Harpe Celtique « Jakez François » aura lieu au Conservatoire National de Région - 4 rue Gaëtan Rondeau - Nantes, du 15 au 19 avril 2009. Il a pour objectifs la diffusion de la harpe celtique en tant qu’instrument soliste, sans restriction de style, de répertoire ni d’époque.
   
   
2. Le concours est ouvert aux jeunes de moins de 18 ans pour la catégorie «Espoir», et aux harpistes âgés de moins de 31 ans pour la catégorie «Soliste» (âges révolus à la date du concours).
   
   
3. La date limite d’inscription est le 16 février 2009 (cachet de la poste faisant foi). Une première sélection sur dossier sera opérée après la clôture des inscriptions. Le 1er Mars 2009, les candidats sélectionnés recevront une confirmation de participation par email ou courrier. Les candidats non retenus en seront informés et recevront le remboursement de leurs frais d’inscription. Dans un deuxième temps, un tirage au sort parmi les candidats retenus sera effectué pour déterminer l’ordre de passage, et une convocation leur sera alors adressée.
   
   
4. Les frais d’inscription sont de 30 euros pour la catégorie Espoir, et 50 euros pour la catégorie soliste. Ils ne sont pas remboursables (sauf pour raison médicale). Ils seront réglés par chèque ou virement bancaire (voir bulletin d’inscription)
   
   
5. Les programmes libres devront être différents à chaque épreuve. Chaque candidat joindra à son bulletin d’inscription les programmes minutés de ses épreuves. Les éventuels changements de programme seront acceptés, dans la limite du temps maximum autorisé sur scène.
   
   
6. Le concours est réservé aux harpes acoustiques, il n’est pas ouvert aux ensembles. Toutes les harpes sont acceptées à l’exclusion des harpes à pédales. Les demandes de mise à disposition de harpes doivent être précisées sur le bulletin d’inscription.
   
   
7. Le dossier d’inscription doit être accompagné d’une photographie, d’une lettre de recommandation du professeur ou d’une personnalité du monde musical, des frais d’inscription (chèque ou copie du virement), d’un enregistrement audio d’environ 10 minutes (programme libre et support au choix : CD, cassette, MP3…), ainsi que des programmes minutés. Le dossier d’inscription peut être transmis par courrier électronique (email). Les dossiers incomplets ne seront pas retenus.
   
   
8. Le jury sera composé de personnalités du monde harpistique international. Ses décisions seront sans appel.

COMPETITION RULES

1. The Second Jakez François International Lever Harp Competition will take place at the National Regional Conservatoire in Nantes (4 rue Gaëtan Rondeau), from the 15th - 19th April, 2009. It aims to promote the lever harp as a solo instrument, without any restrictions of style, repertoire or epoch.
   
   
2. The competition is open to those under 18 in the “Promise” category, and to performers under 31 in the “Soloist” category (ages on the days of the competition).
   
   
3. The closing date for applications is February 16th, 2009 (postmark on the application). A primary selection based on the paper application will be made after the closing date for applications. On March 1st, 2009, candidates selected to participate will receive confirmation of this by e-mail or by post. Candidates not selected will be informed and their application fees reimbursed. Later, a draw will be made to determine the playing order of the selected candidates, of which they will also be informed.
   
   
4. The application fee is thirty euros for the “Promise” category, and fifty euros for the “Soloist” category. They are non-refundable (except in medical circumstances). They should be paid by cheque or bank transfer (see application form).
   
   
5. The free choice programmes should be different in each round. Each candidate should enclose their programme with the application form, timed according to the rounds’ requirements. Changes to programmes are permitted, providing they do not then exceed the set maximum time limits.
   
   
6. The competition is for acoustic harp only and is also not open to ensembles. All acoustic harps are accepted, with the exception of the pedal harp. Requests to play on a competition harp must be detailed in the application form.
   
   
   
7. Each application should contain a photograph, letter of recommendation from a teacher or known personality in the musical world, the application fee (cheque or bank transfer), an audio recording of about ten minutes in length (free choice of programme, and in any recorded medium – CD, cassette, MP3, etc), and timed programme choice. The complete application may be sent via e-mail. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
   
   
8. The jury will be made up of musicians from the international harp scene. Their decisions are final.
